Message from the President

It is with great honor and privilege that I introduce the Association of Black Estate Planning Professionals.

We are so much better together. The African Proverb says, to go fast, go alone, to go far, go together. This is the principle reason for the development of the Association of Black Estate Planning Professionals. We know that wealth creation and legacy building are multigenerational.

We consistently hear about the Racial Wealth Gap. There are many strategic and institutional historical and current obstacles for the acquisition of wealth in the Black Community. The end of racism, personal and institutional, may not be in the foreseeable future. That is a challenge but that does not defeat us.

The ability to create wealth is a multi-prong approach. To be successful in the approach to create, protect and transfer wealth for individuals requires each of us working to leave our silos and build capacity collectively. We need to work together as financial professionals along the continuum of wealth building to strengthen families and communities.

Black people can fuel a movement. Let’s come together to build and economic empowerment community.
